Speedway Solos Part 2 from Trevor Harvey
G'day all ,
a few more of the solos , Chris Holder & Jason Crump .
At my first Tamworth Longtrack in 2001 - a young Jason Crump went on to beat Rod McDonald & Chris Watson . Jay Springsteen was there racing his XR 750 as well !!!
The pics I have of that meeting are poor quality as I had just taken up the camera a few years before - even now I know my fotos can be better if I really had a good go at it !
In 2004 , I found myself in the pits at Newcastle showgrounds - gawking at Jason working on his bikes & at this stage he was already a real threat in world speedway - ( I think he was at #2 that year ? )
I thought - " he can only tell me to piss off " - but a yarn was had about his bikes - $18 k for a fuel injector !!! Funny thing though, standing beside me was a young Stoner whom also joined in on the short yarn had that day.
Moments like that are priceless & very humbling for this little pig .
Chris, I first watched as a kid - racing at Barleigh Ranch , Muswellbrook & Blayney - again an easygoing bloke with a big future methinks & look at him now !
